The Breed — Australian Labradoodle

Introduction

The Australian Labradoodle is a unique dog breed known for its friendly nature, versatility, and beautiful coat. This breed was created by carefully combining Labradors, Poodles, and Cocker Spaniël (American of English), to create a healthy, intelligent, and sociable dog.

Coat Types and Sizes

The Australian Labradoodle has a variety of coat types, ranging from soft wavy to curly, and is known for being hypoallergenic and non-shedding. This makes it ideal for allergy sufferers. It also comes in different sizes: miniature, medium, and standard. 

Mini:

Height: 12 to less than 17 inches, 30 to less than 43 cm

Medium:

Height: 17 to less than 21 inches, 43 to less than 53 cm

Standard:

Height: 21 to 28 inches, 53 to less than 71 cm

Character and Temperament

The breed originated in Australia in the 1980s, with the goal of creating a dog that could serve both companion and therapy purposes.By combining different breeds, the Australian Labradoodle, with its characteristic traits, was created.
