Australian Labradoodles are active and intelligent dogs that require regular exercise to stay healthy and happy. On average, they need about 30 to 60 minutes of daily exercise, which can include walks, playtime, and mental stimulation.
Because they are energetic and social, combining physical activity with training and interactive games helps prevent boredom and promotes good behavior. Keep in mind that exercise needs can vary depending on your dog’s age, size, and personality.
Here is an overview of the typical size ranges for Australian Labradoodles.
Keep in mind that the final size of a puppy depends on both the mother and the father — and, of course, nature always has the final say. While we can estimate based on the parents, some puppies may grow slightly larger or smaller than expected.
Australian Labradoodles are widely considered allergy-friendly, thanks to their low- to non-shedding coats. However, it’s important to note that no dog breed is 100% hypoallergenic, as individual sensitivities can vary. Some people may still react to saliva, dander, or other allergens — regardless of coat type. That’s why we highly recommend spending time with an Australian Labradoodle, either in your area or by visiting us, to see how your body responds before making a final decision.
Australian Labradoodles are generally known for being friendly and social dogs with a moderate barking tendency. They typically bark to alert their owners of strangers or unusual noises but are not considered excessive barkers. Because they are intelligent and well-socialized, Australian Labradoodles usually learn quickly when barking is appropriate. Proper training and regular mental and physical stimulation help keep barking under control.

We focus mainly on socialization and exposure during the first weeks. Basic house training is started, but full training will continue with the new family.
We also offer the option to buy a trained puppy or young dog, for families who prefer to welcome a puppy that already has a foundation in basic training and social behavior. Depending on your needs, the puppy will stay with us a little longer for training before going to your home. This service is available for an additional fee, which varies depending on the training level required. We’re happy to discuss the possibilities during your video call or visit.

The main difference between Australian Labradoodles and regular Labradoodles lies in their breeding background and predictability. Australian Labradoodles are a multigenerational breeddeveloped in Australia by crossing Labrador Retrievers, Poodles, American Cocker Spaniels and English Cocker Spaniels. This selective breeding program was designed to produce dogs with consistent temperaments, low- to non-shedding coats, and excellent overall health.
In contrast, regular Labradoodles are often first-generation crosses (F1 or F1b) between a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle. Because their lineage is less controlled, their appearance, coat type, and personality can vary significantly.
Thanks to their consistent traits, Australian Labradoodlesare especially popular among families and individuals with allergies, making them one of the most sought-after allergy-friendly dog breedsworldwide.
The Australian Labradoodleand the Cobberdogare fundamentally the same breed, sharing the same multigenerational origins. Both were originally developed in Australia using a careful combination of Labrador Retriever, Poodle, American and English Cocker Spaniel with the goal of creating an allergy-friendly, intelligent, and people-focused companion dog.
The main difference lies in the name and the registry behind it. The term Cobberdogis used for Australian Labradoodles that are specifically registered with the MDBA (Master Dog Breeders and Associates), an organization in Australia that has created its own breed standard and branding for the dogs.
In essence, the Cobberdog is an Australian Labradoodle under a different name, recognized by a particular registry. The qualities of both dogs — in temperament, health, and coat — are virtually the same and depend primarily on the ethics and expertise of the breeder.
